Experience

Erik Hotmire is Co-Founder of Watermark Strategies, a premier corporate communications and public affairs consulting firm, delivering strategic stakeholder advisory and engagement services to help clients navigate the complexities of today’s corporate affairs landscape.

Erik counsels senior executives and boards on business-critical issues including crisis, litigation, corporate and brand positioning, leadership transition, mergers and acquisitions, government investigations, geopolitical and regulatory matters. He specializes in designing and implementing communications programs that position clients for success. Erik advises clients in financial services, energy and natural resources, health care, technology, media, and telecommunications, industrials, transportation, and manufacturing.

Prior to Watermark, Erik was a senior corporate client lead, c-suite, and board advisor for 15 years as Partner and at Brunswick Group where he was global co-head of the firm’s Financial Institutions Group, Senior Managing Director at Teneo, Partner at FGS Global, and Director at Clark & Weinstock. Erik is former spokesperson and Senior Advisor to the Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the SEC’s Division of Enforcement. Earlier, he served as Special Assistant to the President and White House spokesperson on domestic policy issues for President George W. Bush.

A former spokesperson for two U.S. Senators, Erik began his career in radio and television journalism.
